Hi there, I’m Katharina and I joined DataCite in October 2024 as the new Finance Manager. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about myself—my background, experience, and what I hope to bring to our team and community.
My journey to science and data started with a passion for biology at school and continued at university while studying Plant Sciences. While working in the field of registration of Agrochemicals in the EU, my focus was on data analysis, data management, and strategic project management. Managing resources, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance were integral parts of my project work.
While diving more into the world of data, I developed a passion for navigating complex financial landscapes and finding innovative solutions to support organizational goals.
Apart from work, you can find me hiking with my family and dog, in the gym, or traveling with the campervan.
What excites me about DataCite is the vision to ensure that research outputs and resources are made openly available and interconnected.
I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to work in an environment that values collaboration and community engagement.
