DataCite Annual Community Meeting

We invite you to learn about DataCite’s strategic initiatives and the role we are playing in driving these initiatives in collaboration with community stakeholders. With a commitment to our mission and vision, and together with our community, we are making important steps toward realizing Open Science.

This training session will focus on citations in DataCite DOI metadata. Attendees will learn citations are represented in DataCite metadata and how repositories can start to include citation information using the relatedIdentifier property. We will also explore how citation metadata can be viewed and harvested.

In this interactive training session, join members of the DataCite team to explore and access DataCite’s APIs. With a focus on the REST API, we’ll cover retrieving, creating, and updating DOI metadata with simple HTTP requests and JSON-formatted metadata. Real-time instruction will be provided, and attendees will be encouraged to engage and ask questions throughout the session. No API experience is necessary.

The Best Practice session will showcase some examples from DataCite Members who have implemented workflows that enable connection metadata to be included when they register DataCite DOIs.
